Bluff Hint: Don't do this at small tables. Other players with a better hand just might call you because of the low amount of money risked! Normally players are playing only good starting hands. But sometimes a player is playing a hand agressiv although he has a very bad hand. It's called a bluff. The player just want's to get all of the other players to pass on his (high) raises or reraises so he can get the pot without showing his weak hand. If there are more thanĀ 1 or 2 players calling, the bluff should be stopped. The risk of one of them having a good hand and calling to the end is too high. Notice: With every community card dealt the risk of the other player(s) getting better hands increases! This can be noticed nearly everytime while playing at a freeroll. Many players are bluffing the first hands to get more chips fast. They have nothing to loose. Semi Bluff On a Semi Bluff the players holds an avarage pair, Flush-Draw (just one card away from a flush) or a Straight-Draw (just one card away from a straight). The pair could become a three of a kind or even a four of a kind and the Flush/Straight-Draw can become a strong flush or straight. So there is a good chance the players cards become a strong hand. Slowplay It's common: A player holds a good hand, raises and everyone folds. The won amount of money is low. To get more money in the pot it is a good way to do a slowplay. That means the player takes his time and checks/calls the other players on Flop and Turn. On the River the slowplay-player starts to bet/raise/reraise. But be carefull doing this there is always a chance of the other players having the better hand.
