 3oak 3 of a kind, pokerhand 
 4oak 4 of a kind, pokerhand

A  
 Ace full Fullhouse - three aces with a other pair 
 Ace high 5 card hand with Ace as highest card 
 Action Bet / Call / Check / Raise / Fold
 Active players Players who are remaining in the game
 Add-on Option on the first break on a tournament to buy more chips
 All-In Bet the whole table stack
 Ante Money/Chips every player has to pay before the cards are dealt. Common on tournaments

B  
 Bad beat Loosing with a stronger hand against a weaker hand because of the communitycards 
 Bankroll All the money the player has to play (online) poker
 Bet pot Bet the same amount as the pot  
 Big blind The second player to the left of the Dealer Button is forced to bet the big blind. 
 Blind The first 2 players left to the Dealer Button are forced to bet the small blind and the big blind
 Bluff Raise with a weak hand hoping the opponents fold to the (high) raises 
 Board The 5 Community cards. See also Flop, River and Turn
 Bring-in In 7-Card-Stud-Poker: Forced bet from the player with the weakest card in the first round 
 Bust Players who lost all of their chips or bankroll are bust. 
 Button Also known as "Dealer Button". The player who deals the cards. 
 Buy-in Fee player has to pay to enter a game (Tournament or Sit&Go) 

 C  
 Call Bet the same amount as the previous player
 Cap Last possible raise in the current betting round 
 Check Check to the next player without setting a bet. 
 Check-raise Fake a bad hand by checking just to raise when the opponents bet 
 Community cards The five card dealt to the middle of the table which can be used by all players.

 D  
 Dealer button Marks the player who deals the cards. See button 
 Drop Throwing the cards away.  See fold
 Ducks A pair of twos. See deuces
 Deuces A pair of twos. See ducks 

 E  
 Early position The player has to bet before most of the other players. He is in early position.
 Extra blind A new player on the table doesn't want to wait for the big blind. He bets an extra blind.  

 F  
 Fish A term used for weak players who loose regulary 
 Flop The first three community cards. See also River, Turn 
 Fold Throwing the cards away. See drop
 Freeroll A tournament which is free to join. 

 G  
 Grinder A player who plays for hours to build slowly a big bankroll 

 H  
 Heads up A Poker game where only two players are playing
 Hole cards The first cards dealt to the player which can't be seen from the opponents. See Pocket cards

 I  
 Inside straight 4 cards which need a 5th cards between the smallest and the highest card to build a straight
 Inside straight draw When someone waits for a straight, when he needs a card between the lowest and highest

 J

 Kicker One of the hole cards which mark the winning hand if 2 or more players hold the same hand 

 L  
 Limping Call the Big Blind on the pre-flop 

 M  
 Muck Option to don't show the hand after the showdown

 N  
 Nuts The best possible hand at the current round 

 O  
 Openended straight A draw straight which can become a straight with a 5th card on both of its ends 
 Over Card Hole Card which is higher than the cards on the board 

 P  
 Pocket cards The first cards dealt to the player which can't be seen from the opponents. See Hole Cards
 Pocket pair A pair build with the 2 pocket cards 
 Pot The money in the middle of the table which the winner will get. 

 Q

 rag Community card which doesn't help any of the players
 raise Bet more than the previous players 
 rake A small fee from the pot which goes to the pokerroom 
 re-buy Option to buy more chips on a tournament. 
river The last of the community cards. See also Flop, Turn 

 S  
 satellite Qualification tournament on online poker rooms. Best players get a ticket for a bigger tournament
 small blind The first player next to the Dealer Button is forced to bet the small blind. See Big blind 

 T  
 table stack Money the player has currently on the table
 tilt A player who freaks out because of bad beats 
 turn The 4th community card. See also Flop, River 

 U  
 under the gun The player left to the Big blind is under the gun. See also early position

 V
