Texas Hold'em (Texas Holdem) is probably the most played variant of poker. Maybe because it seems to be so easy. Blinds of Texas Holdem Poker On Texas Holdem there is a so-called "Dealer Button" which marks the player who deals the cards. Before the round begins, the player left to the dealer bets the small blind which is half of the minimum bet (for example $5 on a $10/$20 table). The second player next to the dealer bets the big blind which is the minimum bet (for example $10 on a $10/$20 table). After that every player will be dealt 2 cards which his opponents can't see. They are called Pocketcards or Holecards. Pre-Flop at Texas Holdem Poker After the Pocketcards where dealt, the players can decide what they want to do. They can either call (bet the same amount), raise or fold. On Texas hold'em the player can bet (bet a selected amount of money), call (bet the same amount of money as the last player), raise (bet more money as the last player), check (there was no bet before so the player can check to the next player) and fold (throw the cards away). Flop at Texas Holdem Poker After the first bidding round the first three community cards will be dealt. Every player gets the same community cards, shown in the middle of the table. Now the first player left to the dealer can decide if he want's to bet, check or fold. Turn at Texas Holdem Poker When everyone did their bet at the flop, the Turn card will be dealt. It is the 4th of the community cards. Like everytime, the first player left to the dealer starts to bet. River at Texas Holdem Poker This is the 5th and last of the community cards. Like at the Turn, the first player left to the dealer stars to bet. The Showdown at Texas Holdem Poker If there is more than one player left at the end of the last betting round, the player who made the last bet shows his cards at first. If nobet was made the first player left from the dealer shows his cards at first. The player with the highest 5-Card-Hand wins the pot. If two or more player are holding the same hand, the pot will be apportioned. Due to the fact that all suits at Texas Holdem Poker are equal, this happens more often than in other poker variants. After that the next round starts. The dealer button will be given to the player left to the current dealer, new blinds where set and new cards are dealt.
